Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung. Spring is a rebirth. A time to refocus. A time for the weather to warm up. But it's not about time. We made up time; it's just a measurement of Earth traveling around the Sun and to mark the hours in the day as it rotates. But time has come to control us in so many ways. It's gotten more complicated over time as the people of the world started moving faster and faster. We went from watching the sun rise and set to hourglasses and sundials to mechanical and now atomic clocks. It's the clock, time, that controls our every day. Drives us to do more. Productivity, doing the most with your time, is a $5 Billion industry... driving us to do more.

Stop.

It's time to think about energy management. Here's what ChatGPT came up with. An interesting tree.

Energy management is about making decisions and taking care of yourself with a focus on energy. Do you have the energy, the stamina to get stuff done with a high degree of quality? The last part is important. Without a high degree of quality, sure, you could get some stuff done. But is it worth it? Why not put your best foot forward? Make a difference.

Where does energy start? 3 key things - eating better, moving more, and getting the sleep your body needs. Many of us neglect all three, but neglecting anyone will have an impact on your life and ability to get stuff done.

If you're following along, I race triathlons - I'm not winning outright, but do pretty good in my age group - and my training has ramped up to get ready for race season. I tend not to talk about it that much, but here I am talking about it. LOL. I was on a podcast a while back and triathlons came up naturally as part of the conversation. The host started laughing because she had seen "triathlons" on my LinkedIn profile. She had started a timer wondering how long it would take for me to mention this. It is a well-deserved meme.

I am proud of my accomplishments, but I am also concerned that as I write Productive Harmony readers will focus too much on what I do. You don't. You don't need to run a 5k or race a triathlon. You simply need to eat better, move more, and get the sleep your body needs.

Embrace the changing of seasons. Embrace spring. Try a new fruit or veggie. Go for a walk after a meal and maybe even to bed a little earlier.

You'll see and feel a difference. Enjoy Spring!

The AI Explainer Video Experiment Next week I officially publish the eBook version of Productive Harmony! Starting price just 99 cents! Amazon and other select platforms will release the paperback and hardcover versions a few weeks later. Now I have to promote it! My thoughts naturally turned to AI. How can I use AI to make my life easier? How can I use it to promote my book. The world is content-driven. I am not a graphic artist, video editor or have much in the way of visual, artistic...

It's been a two year journey. I'm almost there. My first book is scheduled to be published this March! What's it all about? Do you struggle with productivity? Are you burning the candle at both ends? Hustle culture drives us toward an always-connected, always-on, twenty-four-seven work mentality. This approach isn't sustainable, yet we still need to get things done. In ancient times, the rhythms of nature guided our actions. The earth turned, and seasons changed. Along the way, humanity...
